Today I downloaded a program (CamStudio) and it installed normally in my Windows 7. Then I tried to launch it and I got this error message:
The program can’t start beacuse mfc100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
As you can imagine, reinstalling the program didn’t help. So I searched the internet for the file, downloaded the missing.dll file and copied the new one into my Windows.
The destination folder for the .dll file in my case was: c:\windows\sysWOW64
Strangely enough, the folder already contained a copy of the .dll file, soy I had to overwrite it with the new copy.
The fix took effect immediately and I could launch my CamStudio program without problems and without the need of a system restart. Though restarting is always a good idea after making changes in Windows systems.
Here’s a link to a copy of the mfc100.dll (it’s inside a .zip file): Click here for the mfc100.dll file
